The next chapter?

Since I had been vague on Instagram, I thought to just update my blog after almost 6 months- typical me! I did say I would have a vlog update on my YouTube channel, but that will come later.
I worked with an organisation for eight years, and six years with Public Health, looking after communications and media. Generally, after serving six years, you either get extended through an HR process or it goes to market, and you reapply. In my case, it is going to market, and I decided not to reapply. There are reasons for that which I choose not to elaborate here, but if you ask me directly, I will share why.
After six years of working here, I could feel it in my bones that I needed a change. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the work I was able to do and the places it took me. But I must admit, I was starting to feel stuck, and it took this process to really get me thinking of my options.
While this was going on professionally, I was also reflecting on my life in Suva. How everything seemed to have become so routine and normal, including social events and places. Was I going to be doing this year after year? Was this it for me?
I guess these questions kind of prompted me to carefully consider my options and well take a break! A well-deserved break from office life, and try to travel for fun and take it easy. After this short break, and when I am back and feeling inspired, I know that I will find my next career path. I guess what is meant for me will find me (something I always believed in) in good time.
My career has been rewarding in so many ways which I remain forever grateful for. These past few months have been scary; the idea of not working still freaks me out, but I am ready to take that leap and see where this decision takes me.
If you find this intriguing or amusing, well, follow my journey and witness me walk blindly into a new chapter of the unknown!
