Holi in Fiji!

I needed to pick up some stuff from IGA Newworld Supermarket and it so happened that Damodar City was hosting a Holi festival.

I walked into the complex to thumping music, color and many people happily drenched in color. There were cultural dances, dhol, food stalls, games and competitions. FBC was running the show and kept the momentum going.

It was a happy chaos of colors, music, dance and food!

I grew up watching movies featuring Holi and depicting how much fun and happiness this festival involves. So having to see this up close was exciting for me. I was however not going to play with color and water, but rather observed all the happenings.

It pretty cool to see people of different ethnicity and background take part in this fun filled festival. I also spotted our friend Chandra (who is from France), enjoying this occasion.

If in the future you hear of this event, be sure to participate because everyone was having a blast! What festivals do you enjoy taking part in?
